The program

Fuel Your Potential, in brief

Fuel Your Potential is our whole-school nutrition program for high school students, delivered by Accredited Practising Dietitians. It’s been running in Sydney schools and is now expanding to Melbourne and Brisbane.

50+

Australian schools trust Fuel Your Potential

10,000+

students reached in 2025

Years 7 to 12

an age-specific session for every stage

01

Why it exists

Teenagers are growing up in the noisiest food environment in history. Social media nutrition advice, supplement culture and diet trends reach them every day, and PDHPE was never designed to counter that.

02

What it teaches

Critical thinking about nutrition information, food confidence and a positive relationship with food. Practical, interactive and pitched at the right level for each year group.

03

How it's taught

Non-diet, weight-neutral and eating disorder-informed. No calorie talk, no portion rules and no good or bad foods. Every session is designed to be safe for every student in the room.

Your job: bring the program to life

This is a delivery role. The program, the slides, the activities and the school bookings are all ready before you walk in. Your focus is making every session land.

What you'll do

What we take care of

Your personality is part of the program

Schools book Fuel Your Potential for what it covers, so we’ll ask you to deliver the content consistently. How you deliver it is where you come in. Your stories, your humour and the way you read a room are what turn a good session into one students remember.

This role is for a very particular kind of dietitian

Qualifications get you in the door, but they’re not what we’re hiring for. We’re looking for a dietitian who lights up in front of teenagers and cares about how young people think about food.

In front of a room

In how you practise

Behind the scenes

Years of experience aren't the filter

Experience presenting, teaching, facilitating groups or working with teenagers is highly regarded. But an exceptional communicator who loves teen nutrition may be a better fit than someone with a long clinical CV who doesn’t enjoy presenting. If you’re eligible for APD status and this sounds like you, apply.

Being upfront

This probably isn't the role for you if

Built to fit around your practice

Most of our facilitators will have a private practice or another part time role. This work is designed to sit alongside it.

01

You set your availability

Tell us which days suit you and we’ll offer sessions that fit. If a booking doesn’t work, you can say no.

02

Paid per session

You invoice us for each workshop you deliver.

03

School hours mostly

Sessions run during the school day and usually last 60 or 90 minutes, so your evenings and client hours stay yours.

04

No prep once trained

The content is built and kept up to date by us. After your initial training, you turn up ready to deliver.

The honest bit

Brisbane is new for Fuel Your Potential. How much work there is depends on how many schools book, so we can’t promise regular hours. There is certainly potential for this to turn into a more permanent position once there is enough demand.

The essentials

How to apply

From application to your first school

No selection criteria to address. We mostly want to see you present.

1

Email us

Send your CV to info@thebitingtruth.com along with zwith relevant experience, which days you could usually work, and which parts of Brisbane you can get to.

2

Send a 2 minute video

We want to get to know you.

Our facilitators are a huge part of what makes Fuel Your Potential work, so we want to see the person behind the application.

Record a short video on your phone introducing yourself. Tell us a little about who you are, why you’re passionate about teen nutrition, why this role caught your attention and what you think you’d bring to Fuel Your Potential.

No script or editing needed. Just be yourself. For this role, how you communicate matters just as much as what’s on your CV.

3

Have a chat

Shortlisted applicants will have a relaxed video call with Anna or Alex.

4

Show us in action

We’ll send you a short section of Fuel Your Potential to deliver to us. Then we’ll train you in the full program before your first school.

Applications close 1 December 2026.

We’ll review applications as they arrive. First Brisbane sessions: Term 1, 2027.

Email info@thebitingtruth.com to apply.

Things people usually ask

It depends on school bookings. Brisbane is a new market for us, so it could be slower to begin, growing as more schools sign on.

Yes. This role is designed to sit alongside other work. You tell us your availability and we offer sessions that fit.

You invoice us per workshop delivered.

No, although experience presenting, teaching or working with teenagers is highly regarded. We train you in the full program before your first session.
