Private Health Funds: Most private health funds provide rebates for dietitian visits depending on level of cover.
Please check with your private health fund regarding your level of cover as you may be eligible to get a partial or full rebate back for your consultation. You will be provided with a receipt and the necessary information to help you claim from your private health fund.
Medicare: You may be eligible to be referred to a dietitian by your GP. With a GP referral, you can receive a rebate back from Medicare for your appointment (currently at $52.95 – maximum of 5 visits covered per year). Discuss your eligibility for this referral with your doctor.
